This is my fifth year as Director of Baptist Collegiate Ministry. BCM started in the fall of 2004 under the name CrossSeekers. In 2007 the name changed to match the national organization of campus ministries.

About myself, I graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2004 with a degree in Music Education. As I prepared to find a teaching job, Mark Porter the, Director of Area Missions for the Frontier Baptist Association, asked me to survey LCCC for the need of a campus ministry. Over the course of the semester, I found myself having difficulty filling out applications and God placing a burden to take a job of starting the ministry.

I told Mark that I would take on the task starting in the fall of 2004. Over the past four years, BCM has helped host a wide range of activities. Bible studies, mission trips, game nights, service projects, camping trips, visiting the Denver zoo and retreats are just a start of we have done.

In my personal life, I was married to Melody Raquet on June 1, 2007. Shortly after our honeymoon we learned we would have child. David Stephan Bell, was born ten weeks early on December 28, 2007. He is doing well. Pictures of his journey can be seen at bellhousedesign.com. During the pregnancy, Melody was diagnosed with FSGS, a kidney disease. Recently, a she has developed a complication in her hips called avascular necrosis. Please be praying for her as we search out a solution.

As a family, we enjoy playing various board games, putting together puzzles, and visiting the Baskin Robbins on $1 scoop night. We look forward to celebrating David's first birthday and our second anniversary.

In the coming year, BCM desires to reach more of the campus community with the message that Jesus loves them. New events are being planned. I look forward to the exciting year that is coming.
